If you know us, you know that we are proud of FUNCTIONAL art.
We partnered with three great independent makers, to design and create a knife combo that could save your life and/or be displayed in the Museum of Modern Art.
The Colorado Bushcraft Kephart stays true to our mission of designing classic vintage outdoor equipment, with modern touches. The Kephart was designed to be an all around field knife, Hunting, skinning, cleaning, prepping, fire making, and wood working. It's original design dates back to the early 1900's and is considered one of the original bushcraft knives.
Our version of this knife is produced by @jd_custom_knives in Texas, USA. Each knife is handcrafted and tested one by one. Just as our waxed canvas and leather goods are. The blade design is simple, but the scales and hardware provide soul. Lifetime warranty provided by the maker.
About the knife:
- Steel: 8670 with a 61 HRC (hardness) and Scandi grind
- Scales: Quilted Maple with Black Honeycomb Resin and Yellow Spacers
- Liners: Brown Canvas Micarta
- Hardware: Stainless Steel
- Dimensions: 9 1/2" Overall, 4 1/2" blade, 1 1/4" Wide, 1/8" Spine
Did we mention this knife is sharp? Sharp as in slice and dice, as well as good looking!
A knife is only good if you can carry it without poking a hole through yourself. Since this knife design is over 100 years old, we wanted to pair it with something ultra modern and not leather. We had @jerseydevilkydex in New Jersey, USA create the kydex sheath. That may not appeal to everyone, but we think the design and layout of the included Kydex sheath, will blow you away. Safe, secure, lightweight, and a fitting compliment of functional art. Lifetime warranty provided by the maker.
About the Sheath:
- Position: Standard and Scout Carry Options
- Color: Wasteland Digital Camo
- Clip: Tek
- Matching Ferro Rod
And finally, the pigtail. We are not calling this a lanyard, but it does help with extra grip when removing the knife from the sheath. The lanyard is Kodiak leather with a custom handcrafted bead by @montanamike73 from Montana, USA. Another focal point and compliment to the other parts of this creation.
About the Bead:
- Wood: Maple Burl
- Stone: Genuine Onyx
- Hardware: Brass
